What We Do
Facilitate events and link together organisations with community volunteers to help develop or maintain public and private green spaces.
Including: litter picks, gardening projects, general environmental clean ups, painting and decorating play parks, planting projects etc.
EMS Ltd’s Environmental Projects
- Project managed over 1000 houses in an environmental improvement scheme (dwarf walls, rear fencing, driveway, paths and metal railings).
- Designed and developed with full community consultation three children’s play parks.
- Worked with the children of Eascourt Primary School to design and plant a green space on Newbridge Road.
- Run Park Area in Bloom since 2006, with 2011heralding 33 entries the best by far city-wide.
- Carried out numerous litter picks with residents and young people since 2002.
- Worked with 5 young people to clear over 16 tonnes of rubbish as part of Humberside Polices Lifestyle Challenge in 2005. The group “Making it Happen” won a trip to Florida.
- Developing a community garden working with local residents, Archbishop Sentamu Academy and East Hull Centre for Horticulture.
- Regular “area patch walks” with service providers, residents and Ward Councillors to discus neighbourhood issues.
- Facilitate a number of one off clearance in resident gardens to give them a clean start to work with.
- Run Doorstep Challenge a month long project where residents work on their front gardens. Then they are judged on the work carried when the month is up.
- Working with volunteers to operate “31 Days Cleaner” aimed at clearing green spaces and reducing rubbish/litter over one calendar month.
